 Last year, Samsung Malaysia launched the Go the S-tra Mile initiative with the Galaxy S Series, inviting travellers to uncover Malaysia’s tourism through their lenses. The response was nothing short of spectacular, with a treasure trove of submissions highlighting Malaysia's wonders. 

Now, riding high on the excitement to continue showing our nation’s beauty, Samsung is ready to whisk photography and food enthusiasts away on a new adventure: Phone Eats First! This mouth-watering theme invites everyone to explore Malaysia's vibrant culinary scene. We all know the drill: no matter how hungry we are, our cameras always get the first bite! Whether capturing delicious dishes or joyful moments with loved ones, we are making memories as tasty as the meals themselves.

This year’s theme celebrates our local cuisine while continuing the mission of highlighting the gems that make Malaysia unique and enchanting. Get ready to indulge your senses in a delightful symphony of sights, scents, and sounds. Let’s dig in and celebrate the rich flavours that make Malaysia a true feast for the senses!

And what better way to showcase what our country has to offer than to have our fellow Malaysians join us in capturing great foodie moments! From 18 October 2024 to 22 November 2024, let the world see our proud and diverse cuisines through your photos, and brighten up your social feeds with the mouth-watering flavours of our nation. 


To participate in the S-tra Mile Contest, simply snap Malaysian food photos on your Samsung Galaxy S Series devices, share it on Instagram, Lemon8, XHS, TikTok, or Facebook with the hashtags #GoTheStraMile #withGalaxy, and tag @samsungmalaysia.  Participants must ensure that their social media profiles is made visible to the public. 

Finally, participants can share their entries and complete the registration for the contest by visiting https://www.samsung.com/my/go-stra-mile-registration/. 

5 winners will be selected to win a 4-days, 3-nights trip worth RM8,000 to the stunning landscapes of East Malaysia.  So, grab your phone, take a bite, and let the flavors of Malaysia inspire your next great adventure!

100 aircraft, 44 months and 4.4 million man hours: Emirates’ retrofit programme marks major milestone

 Emirates has reached a landmark 100 aircraft refurbished under its retrofit programme, the largest known undertaken by any airline globally. Since work began in November 2022, 47 Airbus A380s and 53 Boeing 777s have been given a complete nose-to-tail refresh at the Emirates Engineering hangars in Dubai. By the end of December 2026, around 20 additional aircraft will be upgraded, moving the airline significantly past the halfway point in its US$ 5 billion investment aimed at delivering a consistently elevated experience to customers. Over a period of 44 months, the Emirates Engineering team has deployed more than 400 engineers and technicians, investing a collective 4.4 million man hours to transform 100 aircraft and deliver a sophisticated upgrade across the cabin interiors of all the aircraft.
