Our First Impression : The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9

Samsung's latest Tab S9 series has taken the stage as the new flagship lineup of tablets. With three distinct offerings - the Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9 Plus, and the standard S9 - Samsung is aiming to cater to a wide range of users' needs and preferences.

Design

When purchasing a tablet, one of many that we looking at is of course the design of the tablet itself. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 comes with the sleek brushed metal design and squared edges, the tablet strikes a harmonious balance between thickness and screen size. This carefully crafted design exudes a sense of luxury and refinement which makes it to be one of the MUST have Android tablets in the market.

The tablet's dimensions of 165.8 x 254.3 x 5.9mm showcase a slim and compact form factor. This sleek design makes it easy to hold and carry, ensuring a comfortable user experience whether you're using it at home, in the office, or on the go.

They comes with the squared edges which contribute to the tablet's modern and premium look. Not just that, they also enhanced the grip too which makes it more comfortable to hold.  One of the things I love about the Galaxy Tab S9 is the dedicated S-Pen slot located on the back of the tablet. This innovative feature serves a dual purpose - it provides a secure and convenient spot for storing the S-Pen and also facilitates its charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9's design is well-considered and functional, with its various components strategically placed for easy accessibility and efficient usage. On one side of the tablet, you'll find the volume and power buttons.

Weighing 498g (or 500g for the 5G variant), the tablet strikes a balance between being lightweight and substantial. The Galaxy Tab S9's IP68 water and dust resistance certification is a noteworthy feature, especially in the tablet market.

The SPen

The S-Pen, a signature accessory for Samsung tablets, has been enhanced for the Tab S9. With a latency of just 2.8ms, the S-Pen offers a responsive and natural writing and drawing experience, akin to using a traditional pen. We love the magnetic feature is particularly convenient as it allows the S-Pen to charge seamlessly regardless of its orientation on the strip. This eliminates the need to worry about specific alignment when placing the S-Pen down for charging.

The Display

The Galaxy Tab S9 series offers a range of impressive displays that enhance the visual experience and cater to different preferences and needs.

Starting with the flagship model, the Tab S9 Ultra, its expansive 14.6-inch display sets new standards for tablet screen size. Moving to the Tab S9 Plus, its 12.4-inch screen strikes a balance between a generous display size and portability. While, The Tab S9, with its 11-inch display, is designed to provide a more compact and travel-friendly option.

The Galaxy Tab S9 series boasts exceptional display quality inclusion of a 120Hz refresh rate ensures that interactions and scrolling feel smooth and responsive, reducing lag and enhancing user satisfaction. The use of Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology further contributes to the display's excellence. This technology not only enhances visual quality but also plays a role in battery efficiency.

The Camera

The Galaxy Tab S9 distinguishes itself by being equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel front camera. This comprehensive camera setup ensures that users can effortlessly capture memories, whether it's a stunning landscape, a candid selfie, or a high-definition video call.

It comes with a vibrant colors, exceptional contrast, and deep blacks create a visually captivating experience that enhances both productivity and entertainment. The inclusion of a 120Hz refresh rate ensures that interactions and scrolling feel smooth and responsive, reducing lag and enhancing user satisfaction.

Specifications

One of the standout upgrades in the Tab S9 series is the adoption of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for the Galaxy. Paired with Samsung's optimized One UI 5.1 software, this combination ensures a seamless and responsive user experience, catering to the demands of multitasking, productivity, and entertainment. Another notable advantage of the Tab S9 series is its support for split-screen functionality and DeX mode. This feature empowers users to efficiently manage multiple apps simultaneously, enhancing productivity and allowing for a desktop-like computing experience when connected to an external display.

Not just that, Samsung's claims of a 34% increase in CPU performance and a 41% boost in GPU performance with the new chipset translate into a tangible enhancement in overall speed and graphics capabilities.

The Battery

With an 8,400mAh battery, the Tab S9 presents a minor yet meaningful improvement over its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S8. This increase of 400mAh contributes to the tablet's overall longevity, providing users with extended usage without compromising its slim and lightweight design.
