 You probably use WhatsApp every day to speak with your loved one, whether it’s sending them a photo, telling them you miss them, or getting to know someone new. And you trust it because WhatsApp protects your personal messages with default End to End Encryption, so they stay between you. Ahead of Valentine’s Day, here are 9 WhatsApp features to make communicating with your significant other even better.

Make sure you never miss a chat from your partner by pinning their chat to the top of your WhatsApp list. On iPhone, swipe right on the chat you want to pin, then tap Pin. On Android, tap and hold the chat, then tap Pin.


2. Express better with Reactions ❤️


Show you’re paying attention to the person you love by acknowledging their message with an emoji reaction. Or drop hints to someone by reacting to their messages a ❤️. Use emoji reactions by simply long pressing the message you want to react to.


3. Be your true self with avatars 👥

Creating your own digital avatar is a new and fun way to express yourself. They are customizable, so it represents who you really are. Once ready, you can use them as stickers when you chat to make your messages even more personal. 


4. Share special moments with status 🖼️

Share photos of your vacation, or that amazing proposal for friends and family to see via WhatsApp Status. It allows you to share text, photo, video, sound, and GIF updates that disappear after 24 hours. 


5. Send a heartfelt voice message 🗣️

Travelling and separated by time zones? Send a voice note so they can hear your voice even if you’re miles away. Now you can keep pausing and recording if you need to gather your thoughts, and review your message before hitting send. 


6. Set a custom notification tone 🔔 

Set a custom notification tone for someone special, so you know when they’re calling. You can do this by clicking on their contact info and changing the Alert Tone from Wallpaper & Sound.


7. Let them know where you are 📍

Planned to meet your date at the mall and now can’t find each other? Share live location in real time for a certain period of time to help them find you. The feature is accessible on attachment at the chat.


8. Use polls to make choices ⚖️

Need your friends’ opinion on what gift to buy for someone you like? Use the polling feature to get your most trusted friends to weigh in. 


9. Set your favorite photo together as a chat wallpaper 👩🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻

Personalize your chat window by distinguishing the wallpaper from other chats. Change it by clicking your partner's contact info and tapping on wallpaper.
