KAO Malaysia’s “Skin Protection, Life Perfection” Campaign Champions Lifelong Skin Health Starting from Youth

In a joint initiative aimed at elevating skincare awareness among Malaysians, KAO Malaysia, in collaboration with Watsons, has officially launched the “Skin Protection, Life Perfection” campaign. The initiative seeks to position daily skin protection not merely as a beauty ritual but as a lifelong investment in health, confidence, and well-being.

At the heart of the campaign is a mission to cultivate a culture of proactive skincare. By combining the scientifically backed Bioré skincare solutions with Watsons’ extensive reach and rewards ecosystem, the campaign introduces a new level of accessibility and engagement for Malaysian consumers. A key highlight is a 1% sales donation drive, which will channel proceeds into local dermatological research to advance knowledge and practices around skin protection.

“At KAO, we see skin protection as essential to living beautifully and healthily,” said Mr. Yamazaki Hirobumi, President of KAO Malaysia. “This campaign is an extension of our Kirei Lifestyle commitment — a belief that small, meaningful acts of care can lead to a more radiant and confident tomorrow.”

Scientific Insights and Holistic Skincare Solutions

To kick off the campaign, a launch event was held featuring expert presentations that underscored the scientific importance of skin health. Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Noraini from Universiti Malaya delivered a keynote address titled “The Science Behind Effective Skincare Ingredients: Why Formulations Matter?”, highlighting how the right products can influence long-term dermatological health.

A live skincare regimen demonstration followed, presented by Dr. Lim Ing Kien from Ventamin. Tailored to suit different age groups, the session emphasized the importance of age-appropriate skincare routines and the preventive benefits of daily protection — especially against Malaysia’s high UV exposure, humidity, and airborne pollutants.

The campaign showcases Bioré’s “Cleanse. Protect.” skincare philosophy, offering gentle yet high-performance UV-blocking solutions that build skin resilience over time. From hydrating mists to tone-correcting sunscreens, the range is designed to encourage Malaysians to protect their skin today, for a more confident tomorrow.

Driving Public Health Through Retail Engagement

As the campaign’s official retail partner, Watsons Malaysia plays a crucial role in driving public engagement. Speaking at the event, Ms. Caryn Loh, Managing Director of Watsons Malaysia and COO Health & Beauty Asia of AS Watson, said:

“This partnership with KAO aligns perfectly with our mission to make wellness accessible for all. With our wide retail presence, digital platforms, and loyalty programs, we’re committed to encouraging positive skincare habits and making skin protection a daily norm.”

From May to August 2025, Watsons members will enjoy exclusive perks through loyalty programs:

W Rewards: Redeem a Bioré Guard MOS Block 50g with 500 Watsons points

E-Stamp Program: Collect stamps to redeem selected Bioré products including the Bioré UV Aqua Rich Aqua Protect Mist and Tone Up Essence

Additionally, customers who spend RM80 and above on Bioré or Bioré Guard products (excluding Men’s Bioré) at any Watsons outlet from 6 May to 25 June 2025 stand a chance to redeem one of 400 limited Touch ‘n Go eWallet Reload PINs worth RM25 each.

Broader Community Impact

The campaign also reflects KAO Malaysia’s commitment to broader community health. In recent years, the company has collaborated with government and non-profit partners through initiatives like “Guard Our Future”, a multi-pronged dengue prevention project that included educational workshops and community clean-ups in Selangor. The continued involvement of the Selangor State Government’s Public Health Committee in these efforts underscores the value of cross-sector collaboration in preventive health.

Through “Skin Protection, Life Perfection,” KAO Malaysia and Watsons aim not only to improve skin health but to foster a culture of care that begins with the individual and extends to the community.
